Resort Guide
Guide to Fuerteventura
Fuerteventura is blessed with a near perfect climate. A mere 60 miles from North Africa the island enjoys plenty of hot sunshine, cooled by welcome breezes from the Atlantic. In fact, Fuerteventura enjoys more than 3000 hours of annual sunshine with very little rainfall and a fairly consistent year round temperature, usually ranging between 20 and 28 degrees.
Because of its extensive beaches, crystal clear turquoise waters and fabulous sunshine, Fuerteventura is often thought of purely as a beach-lovers paradise and definitely as a hotspot for winter sun. Whilst this is true, Fuerteventura has so much more to offer which is why it attracts nearly 2 million tourists a year.
Beaches
Fuerteventura has mile upon mile of wide, beautiful white sandy beaches, sandy coves with beautiful lagoons and, dramatic beaches of black sand and pebbles.
Some beaches have crystal clear, calm turquoise waters while others are a windsurfers dream.
History & Culture
Fuerteventura has a wealth of museums and visitor centres to take you back through the ages. Discover caves, lighthouses, churches and monasteries, windmills and a network of craft shops across the island.
